Hey everyone. I’m Tim Blankenbeckler, the minister of music at Hopewell Baptist Church in Monroe, NC. I’ve been at Hopewell for three years now and having the time of my life.
I’m married to Mindy who is from Va. Beach, VA. We met at Camp Willow Run the summer of 1992 and married January 1993. We have two boy’s, Tyler and Tanner.
I grew up in the mountains of Virginia in a small town called Sugar Grove. We had to drive 60 miles to Bristol VA/TN to get to the nearest mall. Sugar Grove was a great place to grow up in. Wouldn’t change a thing.
I was raised in a Methodist church during the younger years of my life. When I was 14 years old I went down to the Baptist church to hear my uncle preach and it was on that Sunday night that I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I’ve never been the same.
God called me into the music ministry in 1998. That was three years after already attending Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute between the years of 1988 and 1992 and received my Associate in Church Ministry. I then went to North Greenville University where I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree. When I surrendered to that call I went to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1999 to 2002. I was there as a music/voice major.
I enjoy playing golf with my friends and family whenever we get a chance. I’m hoping to get back into flying R/C planes again. Maybe one day soon.
